When we think of a “girlboss”, we think about someone who owns her narrative. That is the case of Anita Fabiola, an actress, beauty queen, television personality and entrepreneur. She shares her time between showbiz and her NGO: Fab Girls Foundation, whose goal is to raise awareness of the problems faced by young girls. Anita, who started as a beauty queen, overcame her days of pageants to become a strong force in the industry.
With a tv show coming up, her partnership with Afripods, and a beauty and hairline soon to be launched, she is opening her way in the USA where she is hoping to show the world her charisma and talent; “we all grow up knowing America is the land of opportunity, but everywhere is the land of opportunity if you work towards your calling”, she added.

Her journey has been challenging, but she has had the opportunity to work with the best, creating a name for herself and a successful career. She hosted the 2016 BET Awards red carpet in Los Angeles, becoming one of the crowd’s favorites. “These events are very important to black people’s culture, and the Entertainment and Music industry in General. They give us a chance to control our narrative, tell our stories, inspire and get inspired by each other, learn, and most importantly bond and come together”.
As her fame and career expands, she has the opportunity to collaborate with amazing people, including photographer Nicholas Mark Imagery. “shooting with such an incredible photographer, with such an artistic vision and professionalism are incomparable. I had so much fun and it was totally out of the box for me”, she said. But wait, didn’t we see some topless photos there? Oh yes, we did, and she feels nothing but proud to have done it, “the thought of it freaked me out so much, but he made me feel so comfortable and confident enough to do it.” According to Anita, we should expect more collaborations like this in the future.

Today, she seeks to help other women feel better about themselves and become an inspiration to those who are experiencing difficult times. “I was inspired by my own story to start this NGO. When I went through everything I went through in 2015, I managed to pick myself back up, with strength and confidence. At the time, I knew I wanted to help other girls with issues I was facing or even worse.”
